2008 Chevy Cobalt Models

The Cobalt comes in three models; the Cobalt Coup, Sedan and the Turbocharged Coupe SS that offer 4 trim levels. The Coupe SS does not offer an additional trim level. Trim levels available to the Coupe and Sedan are the LS, 1LT, 2LT and Sport.

MP3 and iPod Friendly

The Cobalt comes with an AM/FM Stereo/CD player, but also allows you to hook up your iPod/Mp3 player so that you can listen to your tunes on the go! Just purchase an auxiliary cable and plug it in!

Power, Fuel Efficiency

The Cobalt sports a powerful 2.2L DOHC ECOTEC four cylinder engine standar on LS, 1LT and 2LT trims. This dueal overhead cam, 16 valve engine produces 148 horsepower, 152 pound feet of torque and has EPA estimated MPG 24 city and 33 hwy in manual shift and 22 city and 31 hwy for automatic transmissions. The SS Turbocharged Coupe comes standard with a 2.0L DOHC ECOTEC Turbo four cylinder engine delivering 260 horsepower with VVT (variable valve timing). Estimated MPG for city is 22 and 30 for hwy. This is based on GM Regular Compact Car Sedan and 3-Door/Coupe segment.

Safety Features

The Cobalt comes standard with some pretty impressive safetey features like dual front air bags including the Passenger Sensing System. Standard are headcurtain side impact airbags which are mountained to the roof rail and according to GM are designed to reduce the risk of head injuries of certain side impact collisions. Also available are Four Wheel Antilock Brakes which help you maintain control of vehicle steering when on slippery surfaces or when needing to brake hard without break lockup.
