2008 Chevrolet Corvette Models
The Corvette comes in three models; the Coupe, Convertible and Z06. Four trim levels are available for the Coupe — 1LT, 2LT, 3LT and 4LT. The Convertible has three trim levels — 2LT, 3LT and 4LT. The Z06 has three trim levels — 1LZ, 2LZ and 3LZ.
New Engine Standards
The Coupe and Convertible's new standard engine is a 430 horsepower, 6.2 liter LS3 V8 aluminum-block. This power house engine produces 430 horsepower at 5900 rpm and 424 pound feet of torque at 4600 rpm. Combined with the new available dual mode exhaust system this engine provides 436 horsepower and 428 pound feet of torque.
Next up is the Z06's sweet 505 horsepower 7.0 liter LS7 aluminum-block engine. This engine is hand built within the GM Performance Build Center in Wixom, Michigan. This engine has derived many of its components from racing engines such as an eight quart dry-sump lubrication system, titanium valves and connecting rods, forged steel crankshaft with six bolt main bearings and more!
Extreme Features
This years Corvette convertible has the option of adding a power top. The top and tonneau cover cylce up or down in 18 seconds without the driver ever leaving the vehicle! Xenon High Intensity Discharge Headlamps are also available. At 900 lumens, the lamps provide an amazingly lit forward view.
Also available is the HUD or Head-Up Display. The HUD projects selected key information on the windshield, allowing the driver to focus on the driving. A driver can even project current maps provided by the installed navigation system! And why would you even need a CD when you can take advantage of XM Radio! XM Radio feature comes with three trial months to get you started. It is the best commercial-free music, news, sports, talk, comedy, traffic and weather radio around!
