Active Fuel Managment(tm) Technology
With Active Fuel Managment(tm) Technology from GM, the Vortec 5.3L V8 engine standard on LS 4x4 models and all LT and LTZ models delivers power when you need it. In situations where extra power is not needed, such as cruising down the highway on level roads, Active Fuel Managment(tm) deactivates four of the eight cylinders. When load demands increase, such as when the vehicle accelerates or travels uphill, valves are reactivated to provide eight-cylinder operation.
Head-Curtain Side-Impact Air Bags for All Rows
Head-curtain side-impact air bags(1) for all rows help reduce the risk of injuries to outboard occupants in certain side impacts. These air bags are designed to stay inflated in the unlikely event of a rollover to help reduce the risk of ejection.
1 Head-curtain side-impact air bags are designed to help reduce the risk of head and neck injuries to front and rear seat occupants on the near side of certain side-impact collisions. Always use safety belts and proper child restraints, even with air bags. Air bag inflation can cause severe injury or death to anyone too close to the bag when it deploys. Be sure every occupant is properly restrained. See the Owner's Manual and child safety seat instructions for more safety information. Children are safe when properly secured in a rear seat. See the Owner's Manual for more safety information.
